Our trip to Lankayan, Sabah, June 2009
My appreciation as always to my lovely wife Janet, without whom these photos would not be here.
All underwater shots on this page taken with Nikon D300 and 60mm micro Nikkor in Ikelite housing and twin DS125 strobes.

We flew into Sandakan and stayed overnight as we had an early morning start the following day.
The ride out to the Island was about 2.5 hours by speedboat, we were not disappointed on arrival.
The Island is small enough to walk around in 10 minutes, it has a beautiful white sand beach. The cottages / bungalows are very spacious with an excellent bathroom and shower room to a high standard, the room is probably the best we have seen at a dedicated dive resort.
The restaurant was spacious and served all kinds of excellent food buffet style, the dive centre was also very well organised with drying areas and briefing areas with dive site maps etc.
The diving here was not as good as we had expected despite the critters we found, we did not get to see all the sites and some we saw more than once which was disapointing. Would we go back, probably not but i would recommend it with certain reservations.
